Lake Pensaris

Lake Pensaris is located at the eastern end of Meratt County, with the village of Pensaris near its southern tip. The lake is 12 miles long and almost two miles across at its widest point, but steep stone banks keep much of the eastern shore inaccessible.

The lake is well stocked with many species of fish and is often used as a source of food for the poorer members of the local population. Anyone looking to fish the lake must first obtain permission from Baron Okerra, though he generously grants his permission to anyone apart from those looking to set up an industrial-scale fishing operation.

Inhabitants

Lake Pensaris has two main inhabitants. The most approachable is the halfling hermit Jeke, also known as "the General's butler", who once lived in Pensaris and now resides in a makeshift home atop a beaver dam at the northern end of the lake.

Jeke claims to be able to speak with the lake's most famous resident, The General. Local rumours claim the General is a fey beast, but he is in fact simply a monstrously huge catfish that lives in the lake's depths amid the decaying wreckage of a noble's pleasure barge that he sank years ago.
