Typhon was an archdevil, the former ruler of Avernus, the first layer of Hell. Ruling from the garden domain of Arima, he was believed to have been slain by the empyreal lord Ragathiel, possibly at the urging of Asmodeus as punishment for a dalliance with the demon lord Lamashtu. Typhon was succeeded as Lord of the First by Barbatos.1

Typhon presented the infernal duke Furcas with a trident called the Avernus Claw that now serves as the infernal duke's religious symbol.2

Appearance

Typhon had dragon-like wings, a serpentine tail, and poisonous claws.3
