Eagle Garrison Fort

From PathfinderWiki

The Eagle Garrison Fort is a fortress of the Eagle Garrison located in the northern Kortos Mounts foothills, about 100 miles' travel from Diobel on land by way of Meravon.1

History

The fort was established by the First Guard of Absalom to watch over travel in the region. Its soldiers have long held an agreement with giant eagles in the area to aid in their watch and maintain an aerie on site for four of them, though the eagles do not interfere with what they observe.2

Structure

The fort is a small hewn-stone structure with 12-foot ceilings and a three-story watchtower, and is positioned at the peak of a tall hill. Its front doors are embossed with the Garrison's emblem of a flying eagle clutching a sword.3 It consists of a barracks, mess, training hall, and storage rooms, as well as holding cells and quarters for its captain. As of 4720 AR, the Garrison had recently added wooden stables and the eagles' aerie.4

Geography

A road leads from Meravon and into the foothills of the Kortos Mounts, where it becomes narrower as it approaches the fort. The fort's location gives its guards an excellent vantage point on the surrounding lands.2

Staff

The fort is manned by the Eagle Garrison of Absalom, the smallest of the city's district guard units.52 Its soldiers are tasked with reporting the problems the observe to Absalom more than intervening, and it lacks the numbers or resources for a confrontation.2
