Island oni
(Creature)

An island oni,1 also known as a water yai,2,34 resembles a towering humanoid with blue skin, small fangs, and a third eye glaring from their forehead, wearing soaking wet robes. These oni claim islands near coasts and hoard riches scavenged from shipwrecks, sometimes enlisting their undead inhabitants in the process.5

They often assume the forms of enormous merfolk in the water, but prefer to adopt the shapes of storm giants when on land. Island oni tend to be easily distracted by beautiful treasures, and despite their evil natures are prone to acts of unexpected frivolity.6
