Now known only by its ruler, the Jade Hegemon Empire was an ancient munsahir empire of southern Tian Xia whose actual name was lost to time. The geoengineering projects of this elemental empire is the source of much of the artificial Valashmai Jungle.

History

Formed by munsahirs escaping from their plight on the Plane of Fire during the Age of Serpents (Age of Monsters on Tian Xia), the Jade Hegemon Empire was the earliest great civilization of the Valashmai Jungle region. The Jade Hegemon's subjects were promised liberty, order, and dignity, enticing many others to willingly join. At its height, the Jade Hegemon's territory stretched across the entire width of southern Tian Xia. The era of the Jade Hegemon came to an end with the Age of Legend, when the cruel reptilian Valashai arrived and the munsahirs retreated to the mountains.

Geoengineering

The Jade Hegemon heavily reshaped the geography and environment of the region. Among the empire's projects were weaponized volcanoes, self-replenishing emerald mines, and powerful guardians who have since turned into kaiju or other horrors. The munsahir's geoengineering almost entirely supplanted the native flora and fauna, of which one of their last bastions is the skin of a single forest dragon, Arindham. The kaiju Kawuk is believed to have formed as the land's reaction to these projects.
