Smiad was an archon empyreal lord who charged his followers to slay all evil dragons and assist the good works of benevolent ones. The followers of the Pitiless Dragonslayer tried to copy his honorable tactics, and rarely resorted to trickery or deceit when attacking their foes. Smiad was the patron of some of history's most legendary paladins.

After the death of Gorum, Smiad recruited Gorum's servant Saint Fang, the Armored Dragon, to his cause. The two proceeded to slaughter dozens of dragons within a few days before drawing the ire of Dahak, who swiftly slew Smiad before slowly consuming Saint Fang alive.
