Growling Skald
Growling Skald is a mountain ridge of the larger Mindspin Mountains range that contains one of its few volcanically active areas. The low rumble churning underneath is a clear sign of geological activity, though the more poetically minded say that the rumble is a restless giant spirit that haunts the ridge.1 The ridge's elevation averages 11,000 feet.2

During the age of Azlant, astronomers from that ancient empire constructed several outposts for interacting with the cosmos powered by the Growling Skald's volcanic activity. One of these outposts, the underground Somal Gate, is a portal to Golarion's Moon, which the Azlanti named Somal.3
The site has been abandoned for more than 10,000 years but remained intact, with only a tribe of fire giants having ventured near it as of 4712 AR, and the portal remains inactive until its corresponding Somal Stone is exposed to moonlight.3
