Shemhazians, also known as mutilation demons, are among the more powerful and predatory demons of the Outer Rifts. Quite enormous in size, they seem to be a combination of several predatory animal species. Shemhazians delight in torture and mutilation and enjoy eating their victims, even though they never need to eat.12[citation needed]3

Associated sin

Torture, mutilation.4

Appearance

Shemhazians are 35 feet tall with a assortment of claws, pincers, and fangs.25

Shemhazians looks like a bipedal wolf with the ends of its limbs and shoulders covered in chitin. They possess a segmented barbed tail, an additional pair of mantis-like arms growing out of their back shoulders, and an additional set of insect-like eyes.26

Abilities

A shemhazian's bite possess a enfeebling effect. They can climb and fly. Meeting their gaze causes paralysis in non-demons. Shemhazians are mentally harmed when the mutilation they recently caused is at least partially undone, as it is part of their nature and they find the act of healing unbearable.23

Habitat and ecology

Shemhazians are created from souls of torturers and people that revel in physical mutilation of others. Shemhazians thoroughly enjoy tormenting mortals, but delight in tormenting their fellow demons making them feared and hated by other demons. Only the strongest demons are thus willing to work with shemhazians towards a common aim.25
