Brynran Khoraseid is a noseless old crone who dwells in the squalid Kellid slum known as The Cairns in the heart of the Ustalavic capital city of Caliphas. Brynran is the oldest living resident of the Cairns and is regarded as a mother figure by many of the shantytown's inhabitants. She also serves the community as a sort of de facto leader of the city's Kellid people.
