Grand Princess Eutropia Stavian is the current ruler of the nation of Taldor and the daughter of its previous ruler Stavian III, having inherited the throne following the civil war known as the War for the Crown.2

Background

A young Grand Prince Stavian III (center) with Eutropia (right) and Carrius II.

A strong-willed woman, Grand Princess Eutropia intended to inherit the throne upon the death of her father. Such an act would have been against the law of Taldor, as the nation followed agnatic primogeniture where only males can inherit. Eutropia had grown disgusted with the stagnation of Taldor and intended to force the nation into the modern world, even if that required taking power by force.3 Many worried that this would result in a civil war that the nation could not afford, but Eutropia disagreed, and built support among the senatorial class.4 She also rallied the youth of Taldor to hold demonstrations and demand that the Primogen Crown appoint her as the official heir. Her father become deeply disturbed by his daughter's actions, but trusted that Taldor would continue honoring its traditions at the time of his death.5 In 4718 AR, Eutropia successfully ascended to the throne of Taldor after an initial civil war.6

Rule

Despite her violent path to the throne, Taldor's inaugural empress has demonstrated a commitment to temperance and thoughtful enhancements for the nation.7

Family

Other than her father, Grand Princess Eutropia has a brother, Carrius II, who died in an horse-riding accident5 but was later resurrected.2 Her mother, Etroffe, died shortly after the birth of her younger brother, but the grand princess was too young to remember much about her.1

Animal companions

Grand Princess Eutropia bred her horse, Myrsensia, with a stud from the legendary Al-Zabriti line. Although this was a diplomatic victory, she had to keep the event a secret before her coronation, as it would have shocked her father's cabinet had it been revealed.8

Although she feared dogs as a child and still bears the scar of a dog bite on her arm,9 she deeply loves animals and her mixed-breed dog Taldogis,1011 a name that her father despised.12
