Roru

From PathfinderWiki
Roru
Hunter demon
(Creature)

Rorus, also known as hunter demons, are demons born of the souls of those who mutilated the carcasses of animals.1

Appearance

In its natural form, a roru resembles a muscular, skinless humanoid with clawed hands, hooved feet, and antlers and horns growing from its head and torso. While wearing an animal pelt, the roru becomes visually indistinguishable from the worn type of creature, and only by destroying the pelt can one force it to reveal its true nature.1

Abilities

Rorus often don the skins of animals to disguise themselves and infiltrate groups of animals, where they corrupt them into violent, ferocious predators.1 These disguises also make them harder to track.2

Rorus emit an aura of fear that causes some animals and beasts to avoid attacking the roru.3 However, their fundamentally dominant nature causes them mental harm whenever any nearby animal refuses to do as commanded, especially if the roru is the one issuing the command.1

Rorus can also teleport, dominate and speak with animals, communicate telepathically, and speak Chthonian, Draconic, and Empyrean.1

Ecology

Rorus prefer to twist animals in or near areas populated by humanoids, where they typically pose as animals or cult leaders in abattoirs.1
