Husks, a novella in six parts written by Dave Gross, was serialized in the Jade Regent Adventure Path from August 2011 to February 2012 and as an eBook in July 2012.

Teleported halfway around the world in pursuit of a magical pearl, Pathfinder venture-captain and master detective Varian Jeggare and his hellspawn bodyguard Radovan find themselves stepping out into a crime scene. Their contact has been murdered, and only by joining Inspector Takeda and the serving girl Kazuko do the foreigners have any chance of finding the murderer and finishing their mission. But as the body count rises, and the mysterious tattooed gangs of Minkai begin to turn on each other, both men may find themselves seriously out of their depth.
