Fetchlings, who prefer to be called kayals, are descendants of humans who long ago became trapped in the Netherworld.

Appearance

Warped by the alien energies of the Netherworld, fetchlings have become extremely slender in build, with stark white or black hair and pale yellow eyes. To combat their monochromatic nature, they often dye their hair with vivid colors acquired from plane-traveling merchants.

Most fetchlings are of similar height to humans, while wisp fetchlings are closer to the size of halflings.

Adventurers

Fetchlings have a reputation as travelers. Many fetchlings leverage their natural agility as swashbucklers or rogues. The Netherworld's influence evokes hidden power in many fetchling bards or sorcerers (especially those of the shadow bloodline) or drives them to research deeper mysteries as witches or wizards.

Society

As they are aware of their extraplanar origins, they often serve as intermediaries between visitors to the Netherworld and its other native inhabitants. They make up nearly the majority of Shadow Absalom, although they do not rule it.
