Jorgenfist

From PathfinderWiki

Jorgenfist is a fortress in the center Varisia's Iron Peaks, near the Muschkal River within the Valley of the Black Tower. Its walls incorporate the Black Tower on its southeastern side.12

Structure

The fortress is surrounded by a circular wall of magically sealed stone 30 feet wide at their base, 15 feet wide on their battlements, and 50 feet tall. The walls extend from the Black Tower's sides and include six conical 70-foot-tall towers of their own.3

History

The Black Tower contains an ancient library of the Therassic Order of the historic empire of Thassilon, and the stone giant Mokmurian led the construction of the fortress centuries ago after investigating the Black Tower. From Jorgenfist, Mokmurian united several clans of giantkind and threatened Varisia.1

After Mokmurian and his giants were defeated by adventurers,4 the ruins of Jorgenfist were claimed by scholars from across the Inner Sea region seeking to study ancient mysteries.5 Representatives included the Pathfinder Society, Nethysian clergy, the Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye, and Order of Cyphers.6

In 4718 AR, the fort was subject to temporal distortions caused by the presence of a copy of the Book of Serpents, Ash, and Acorns.7
