Season 6 of the Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild campaign ran from August 2014 to July 2015. The season is referred to as the Year of the Sky Key due to the involvement of the Pathfinder Society in and around Numeria.

At the end of Season 5, national factions were retired and replaced by new ideal-based factions with the same leadership but new goals and traits:

• Andoran's vanities and boons carried over to the new Liberty's Edge faction.
• Cheliax's vanities and boons carried over to the new Dark Archive faction.
• Osirion's vanities and boons carried over to the new Scarab Sages faction.
• Qadira's vanities and boons carried over to The Exchange, a new faction that includes elements of the retired Sczarni faction. However, Sczarni vanities and boons are not transferable to The Exchange without a boon that states otherwise.
• Taldor's vanities and boons carried over to the new Sovereign Court faction.

The Grand Lodge and Silver Crusade factions remained unchanged.

The Pathfinder Society recovers part a strange artifact known as the Sky Key in the dwarven sky citadel Jormurdun, a prized relic recovered by the dwarves of Jormurdun after seeing it and other pieces of a mysterious starship plummet from the sky during the Rain of Stars. In 1600 AR when hryngars attacked and conquered the citadel its ruler, King Gutheran, broke the Sky Key into five pieces, keeping one piece for himself and giving one to each of his four heirs.

The Pathfinder Society takes on the task to find the remaining pieces and reunite them to reassemble the Sky Key in order to explore the true potential of the famous artifact. This search takes Pathfinders to locations across Golarion from the frozen plains of Irrisen to the steamy jungles of the Mwangi Expanse and the arid deserts of Osirion, eventually guiding Pathfinders to the heart of Numeria, where the starship fell and into even extraplanar adventures.
