Gannet Island

Gannet Island is a rocky island surrounded by shoals in the western reaches of the archipelago of the Shackles,1 and part of a chain of islets that stretches some 40 miles long234 and includes Garnet Island to its southwest.5 Gannet Island itself is located north of Blackblood Cay on Shark Island, east of the Glengarnie Chain, and west of the Smoker.234

Geography

Gannet Island is a rocky U-shaped island covered in thick jungles, and most of its shoreline consists of ragged 30-foot-tall cliffs. The island's northwestern side, beyond its dangerous shoals, opens into has a harbor large enough to shelter a fleet, and it was used as such in 4712 AR by the pirate Captain Barnabas Harrigan. Harrigan also established a fortress atop a 20-foot-tall plateau overlooking the beach on the harbor's northern-facing shore.16
