Aslynn is a night hag and interplanar trader who became a frequent foe of the Pathfinder Society, the sorcerer Hao Jin, and others.1

Relatives

Aslynn has several changeling children, including the elf Narcela,23 cambion4 Arisept,5 aiuvarin Sounrel,6 shisk Liaskra,7 and human Suhko.8

Associates

Aslynn has a contentious relationship with other night hag traders of the Soul Stalls in Shadow Absalom, such as the Onyx Alliance associate Valryss.9 She has a nightmare companion named Deimostride.10

Background

Aslynn plied her trade as a trader of rare magical items for decades. As of 4722 AR she had been well known in the markets of Quantium for nearly 100 years.1

The Pathfinder Society first came into contact with Aslynn in 4713 AR during its pursuit of Jormurdun. While investigating the traitorous Venture-Captain Thurl, who had secretly conducted business with the hag for almost two decades, Pathfinders first communicated directly with Aslynn.1112

Aslynn next encountered the Society in 4715 AR by acquiring the captured soul of murdered Master of Spells Aram Zey from the Conference Z experiment known as 322.13 The Society recovered Zey's soul in 4716 AR after Aslynn had extracted secrets about the organization from him.14

The hag participated in the planning of the Fiendflesh Siege of Absalom led by Grandmaster Torch, Thurl, Pasha Mulhia al-Jakri, and Koth'Vaul in 4717 AR, but did not directly participate in the assault.151617

in 4719 AR, Aslynn recruited drow18 mercenaries to spy on the Hao Jin Tapestry19 and accelerate its disintegration by causing as much chaos within the tapestry's demiplane as possible.2021 She also recruited the hryngar22 of the tapestry's Slave Mountain to harvest souls for her,23 manipulated the tapestry's Sunsu Godae inhabitants by stealing a sacred flower and replacing it with a draining etheroot,2425 stole the Thassilonian ruin known as the Rune-Crossed Crucible,1 and attempted to steal secrets about the tapestry from Hao Jin in order to harvest the tapestry's remaining souls.26 Aslynn's attack resulted in some of its contents being scattered into the Astral Plane.1

In 4721 AR, Aslynn manipulated the Onyx Alliance into a conflict with the Society and imprisoned Alliance leader Sarnia Blakros, in service of a plot to steal the contents of the Alliance's Onyx Repository.2728 The Society freed and assisted Blakros in recovering part of the Alliance's stolen collection, which Blakros granted to the Society for protection or destruction.293031

In 4722 AR, Aslynn dispatched several of her children to recover some of the items she failed to steal from the Onyx Repository.632 Her daughter Narcela betrayed Aslynn to the Society and led its agents to discover the hag's abduction of the Ardis Scholars of Ustalav to her palace in the Netherworld, where she had forced them to craft devices of Stasian technology for her.3334 After a series of proxy conflicts, a Society scheme led by archivist Zarta Dralneen and the Decemvirate member known only as the Waterfall, and facilitated by the freed Ardis Scholars, lured Aslynn into a trap in the Dreamlands where the Society defeated her.353637

Aslynn's conflict with the Pathfinder Society unintentionally awakened dolls within a dollhouse prison, once owned by former Irriseni Queen Elvanna and as of 4723 AR stored in the Society's vaults beneath the Grand Lodge, into poppets.38

Possessions

Aslynn maintains a fortress of black stone in the Netherworld, built atop black crystals that the hag uses to craft soul-capturing devices.33 The palace includes a chamber with a magic mirror from which Aslynn torments mortals in their dreams.39

After capturing members of the Ardis Scholars, Aslynn forced them to implement captured Stasian technology throughout her palace, including the installation of light bulbs.33

The hag also owns a ship capable of planar travel christened the Gale's Claw,40 which was also augmented with Stasian technology.5
