The Key-Lock Killer committed a total of 15 home-invasion murders in the Varisian city of Korvosa between 4690 AR and 4697 AR,1 making him one of the city's most notorious "pattern murderers". In most of his murders he killed only one of the home's inhabitants in silence before leaving the other residents alive to discover the crime in horror. His murder weapon was often a key sharpened into a lethal dagger,23 and his murder scenes were always meticulously devoid of any signs of his presence, with every entrance locked. He was never apprehended for his crimes.1

Relatives

Rolth Lamm was one of the sons of Korvosan crimelord Gaedren Lamm. Gaedren frequently abused Rolth, who repeatedly ran away before being recaptured by Gaedren each time. This cycle repeated until Rolth learned a spell that dealt Gaedren so much harm that it deterred any further attempts at retrieval. Upon gaining his freedom from Gaedren, Rolth began his spree of horrific murders in Korvosa.1

Background

Lamm engaged in necromantic and alchemic research, including the crafting of carrion golems.45 He would also craft necrophidiuses from the remains of some of his victims,4 which he kept in his lair of the Dead Warrens in Korvosa's Gray District.6 He also associated himself with a cult of Urgathoa.1
