Khalas1 are three-headed, winged, legless dragons found primarily in the land of Irrisen in northern Avistan. The coming of Baba Yaga and her supernatural winter over Irrisen warped this once-proud breed into cruel beasts who delight in the suffering of others. Some believe that the males of the species, known in legend as zmeys, were made extinct in a war with the khalas prior to Baba Yaga's arrival.2
