Heidmarch Manor

From PathfinderWiki

Home of the noted Pathfinders Canayven Heidmarch and Venture-Captain Sheila Heidmarch, Heidmarch Manor is the first Pathfinder lodge in all Varisia, serving as the Pathfinder Society's base of operations into the rest of Varisia. Heidmarch Manor is located in Magnimar, the so-called "City of Monuments", within the prosperous Alabaster District of the city's wealthy Summit area. The manor is located just north of the Triodea in the neighboring Naos District1 and contains all the usual amenities of a Pathfinder lodge—including some with a Varisian twist.

Structures

As the manor house itself is the private residence of Canayven and Sheila Heidmarch, it contains their personal residence decorated with mementos of their earlier adventures, ranging from Taldan suits of armor to the stuffed remains of fearsome monsters.2 Its study is divided between the two Heidmarchs, and its second-floor atrium has a stained-glass roof and contains plants from Garund and other locations they explored as field agents. The manor house itself is generally kept private by the Heidmarchs, with Pathfinders only occasionally invited inside.3

The lodge has individual cottages for visiting Pathfinders, known as the Thassilonian Houses, each named after one of the ancient Thassilonian realms that once ruled over the land: Eurythnia House, Bakrakhan House, Shalast House, and Haruka House. The separate Meeting House formally serves as the main structure of the lodge and features a meeting room, a lecture hall, a library with a large collection of Pathfinder Chronicles and essays on Varisian history, and a showroom lined with ancient Thassilonian artifacts.4

Residents and usage

As of 4720 AR, along with the owners, the lodge served as the home for two other Pathfinders: Almya Gorangal and Joadric Heimurl, both of whom had been planning expeditions into different areas in central Varisia since at least 4713 AR.56 The manor's gatehouse employs the guardsman Ebrylis, and the Meeting House is managed by Wumbrout Brios.3 The lodge also employs the reformed goblin thief Ekkie, who as of 4724 AR continued to work there as a trainer on handling traps and exploring dungeons after working off her debts to the Society for past thefts.78

Sheila and Canayven would fund any mission that Pathfinders were sent out to Heidmarch Manor to complete, particularly those related to Lissala or ancient Thassilon.95 After prominent discoveries in Varisia ca. 4713 AR, the Decemvirate also funded endeavors in the region.5 Many operations delve into Thassilonian sites both within Magnimar and in the nearby Mushfens.9

Of particular interest as of 4720 AR was a dig site led by Skolvir Ironhammer south of Sandpoint.9
