The Kintargo Opera House in the city of Kintargo, Ravounel, is beloved by the local population and has been the stage for such famous soloists as Shensen.12 It is one of the most esteemed opera venues in Avistan.3

History

Under Chelaxian rule

Under the rule of Cheliax, the opera house had earned a dangerous reputation for educating "free thinkers".4 However, it remained deeply loved by Kintargans.12

After the Night of Ashes in 4715 AR it became the headquarters of Barzillai Thrune, the newly installed Lord-Mayor of Kintargo, and all public performances of opera were stopped. It was suspected that private performances were still held for the opera-loving Thrune.56

In 4716 AR, the Opera House was the site of the Ruby Massacre,3 an event widely described as the point of the Kintargan Rebellion when Cheliax began to lose its grip on Kintargo.7

Under the rule of Ravounel

After Kintargo and Ravounel won independence from Cheliax, management of the Opera House passed to the Shelynite temple of Songbird Hall3 and its leader Zachrin Vhast.8 As of 4724 AR, however, rumors suggest that the temple is seeking new management for the venue.3 The Silver Ravens have also used the Opera House as their headquarters.9
