Dajermube is the recently ascended Sun Goddess of Eclipses.1

History

As a mortal woman, Dajermube was descended from the Old Sun God Chohar and battled the Mzali Council of Mwanyisa in rebellion against their attempts to eradicate all worship of the Old Sun Gods.2 She learned of her divine lineage and the process of ascension while helping the Temple of the Eclipse preserve information about the Old Sun Gods, and attempted a ritual there to attain godhood.32

However, the Council attacked the temple with golems,4 slaughtered every person within, and killed Dajermube with a crossbow bolt seconds before the ritual's completion.2 Her sudden death mid-transformation left her soul in a state of limbo as a nemhaith that lasted thousands of years.56

A group of heroes associated with the Bright Lions, a rebel group fighting Walkena in Mzali, freed her trapped soul some time around 4721 AR, and her apotheosis successfully completed. She then aided the heroes in their battle against Walkena's avatar.57

Relationships

Dajermube's goal, dating to her ascension and remaining as of 4724 AR, is to remove Walkena from power and allow the people of Mzali to once again rule themselves.5 She is also the primary enemy of Camazotz, and has pursued the Lord of Stolen Blood since her ascension.8

Appearance

The Holder of Unquenchable Light resembles a tall, muscular Mwangi woman with dark skin and curled hair, whose shadow is that of a lioness.15 When parts of her body are shadowed, their appearance shifts to that of a lioness.5

She often dons loose robes common in the era of Old Mzali, but sometimes also appears in armor of the Bright Lions who aided in her ascension.5

Worshippers and clergy

The Bright Lions of Mzali who helped free Dajermube are now the foundation of her congregation. The recency of Dajermube's ascension has limited her understanding of her powers and their extents, but she has instructed her followers nonetheless in the manipulation of light and shadow. Her worshippers have also devised ingenious new spells and applications of her divine magic while also recovering those from her mortal life once thought to be lost to time.5

Temples and shrines

The Temple of the Eclipse in Mzali, and the Shrine of Dajermube on its surface, are among of the city's oldest structures, but as of 4710 AR their importance as the site where Dajermube attempted to ascend to divinity had been forgotten.93

Over the millennia it became overrun with the golems from the Council's assault on Dajermube's ritual, bilokos, and the graveknight of Umandayo, a former champion of Dajermube.10
